Dave was born in October of 1941 to the late Albert and Viola Jones of McKeesport, Pa. He grew up loving music and collecting records with his younger sister, Mary.
At 17, Dave joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served on the USS Randolph as a lithographer. He was part of the recovery mission for John Glenn's orbit of the Earth in 1962. He later met the love of his life, Barbara and they shared 57 loving years of marriage together.
In 1969, Dave and Barbara moved to Warren, where he continued his career in the printing industry. Together they had four children who were his true pride and joy, Brian (Yvette), Rachel (Joe), Erin (Lance) and Dean (Monica). He had one grandson, Erick, and also enjoyed playing with his many grandpups and grand kittens.
Dave was an avid Mosquito Lake fisherman, a puzzle lover, a fix-anything man and an enthusiast of many music genres from DooWop to his favorite Celtic Woman, whom he saw twice in concert. Although he had dementia that progressed rapidly this past year, he was always happy to see friends and family while enjoying Barb's cooking, ice cream, cake, fudge and orange soda.
Dave's life will be celebrated with military honors at a private family service, with burial in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Donations, in Dave's memory, may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which held a special place in his heart.
