MARION – Leslie "Les" Jay Montgomery, 64, passed away on November 2, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born on June 29, 1957 in Hartford City to Rodger Dean Montgomery and Sharon Sue (Snow) Montgomery. His parents preceded him in death.
Les graduated from Blackford High School in 1975 and graduated from Lincoln Tech. He was a Diesel Mechanic for Wabash Trucking and First Option Trucking.
He enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face, he never met a stranger and he had a heart of gold. In his younger years he enjoyed horses and horseback riding. He was a member of HOG (Harley Owner Group) and enjoyed traveling on his Harley Davidson. He was an avid pool player. He also enjoyed cooking especially baking and working in his garden. He was a Certified Scuba Diver.
Les will be sadly missed by his children, Sara E. (wife, Laci) Montgomery of Auburn, IN, Tiffiny L. Bunn of Kokomo and Zachery E. (wife, Kimberly) Montgomery of Hartford City; grandchildren, Mikayla Days, Kady Days, Carson Days, Olivia Days, Montgomery Bunn, McCartney Bunn, Mattison Bunn and Brenton Montgomery; siblings, Lyndall D. (wife, Tracey) Montgomery of Scottsburg, Linda D. Wrightsman of Muncie, Laura K. Everhart of Hartford City and LeAnn Montgomery (companion, Randy Apple) of Montpelier; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 North High St., Hartford City. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the funeral home.
Les will be cremated and his cremains will be interred at Hartford City Cemetery at a later date.
