Born on June 1, 1938 in Delaware Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late David Wharton and Gladys C. (Miller) Guyer. On February 17, 1962, she married her late husband, Willard Leroy "Kingy" Hess, with whom she was blessed to share over 56 years of marriage before his passing on July 26, 2018.
Surviving are: one daughter, Kelly D. Willow and husband Rod, two sons, Danny L. Hess and wife, Rebecca, all of Mifflintown, Terry L. Hess of Mifflin; three grandchildren, Rodney J. Willow and his wife Sharielle, Tabitha Lopez and her husband Fidel, and Samantha Peck and her husband Dakota; eight great grandchildren; Jade Wray, Aubree Willow, Ember Willow, Rhys Willow, Andel Lopez, Alyana Lopez, Alandro "Lil Will" Lopez, and Atley Peck; siblings, Jay Guyer and his wife Dolly of East Salem, Charlie Guyer of Elliotsburg, Dale Guyer of East Salem, Gloria Delancey of Mifflintown, Carol Kemp of Thompsontown, Catherine Cramer and her husband Donald of Richfield, Darlene Corrigan and her husband Jim of Lancaster, and Bonnie Guyer of Thompsontown; and several generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, George Guyer, David Guyer, Allen Guyer, Carl Guyer, and Wharton Guyer.
Mrs. Hess was a 1956 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus and a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, East Salem where she sang in the church choir for many years.
Pat was self-employed, who along with her late husband "Kingy," owned and operated Hess Printing for 32 years and she was also employed by the Juniata Sentinel.
She loved spending time sitting on her front porch, watching Jeopardy, and tending to her flowers; however, being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, her greatest joy came from spending time taking care of her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 8, 2021 from the Otterbein United Methodist Church, East Salem with Pastor David McElwee and Pastor Donald Walters officiating. Interment will follow in the East Salem Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
