Rickie David Krabe, age 71, passed away October 13, 2021 in Austin, Texas.

He was born in Austin on October 15, 1949, a son of Clara Elizabeth Johnson Krabe and the late Leonard David "L.D." Krabe, Jr.

He grew up in and around the Oak Hill area, attending Oak Hill Elementary and Dripping Springs High School. In 1967, Rickie joined the National Guard and served with the Military Police force. On December 14, 1973, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Sharon Jean Freitag, in Austin, Texas.

Affectionately named "Rickpaw" by his grandchildren, Rickie is remembered as a very humble, giving, caring, selfless, hardworking and devoted family man. He adored his family and never missed an opportunity to spend time together. Having a taste for the outdoors, Rickie worked as a surveyor for all of his adult life. Rickie enjoyed participating in all sorts of sports and activities, including being a rodeo clown at Hill's Arena in Oak Hill. Rickie was an excellent athlete. Many have classified him as a "natural born athlete". Rickie played short stop and third base for many years with various softball leagues around the Austin area. Most weekends you would find the entire family at a ballpark somewhere in Texas. When not playing softball, Rickie was either behind the plate umpiring a game, playing tennis with Sharon or water skiing on Lake Travis, surrounded by his adoring children, Jerry and April. Although Rickie enjoyed all sports, the game of golf became his passion. Many Sunday mornings started with Rickie and his buddies playing a round at the Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin. Rickie was a devout University of Texas Longhorn fan - Hook 'Em! He loved listening to all types of music and was an amazing dancer, especially with Sharon.

In addition to his father, Rickie was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Eugene Krabe; his father-in-law, Wesley and his mother-in-law, Jean.

He is survived by his wife of almost forty-eight years, Sharon of Round Rock; his son, Jerry and his wife, Teresa of Elgin; his daughter, April of Round Rock; four grandchildren and his mother, Clara Kinney of Round Rock.
