PATRICIA'S OBITUARY
Patricia Ann Cole (Gerlock) known to many as "Patty", 73, of Ordway, CO was found deceased in her home on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
Patty was born in La Junta, CO on May 2, 1948, a daughter of the late George Gerlock Jr. and Patricia June (Kimball).
In 1954 Patty and her family moved to Golden. CO where her father George was instrumental in starting the Fairmount Fire Department. This was the beginning of her love for the fire department where she spent much of her childhood celebrating holidays.
Patty graduated from Arvada West High School in 1966.
She had four lovely daughters who were exceptional in every aspect of life. In 2006, Patty returned to the valley and bought a home in Ordway.
Patty loved the fire department and her community. She viewed first responders as true heroes. She was always looking for opportunities to serve her community by volunteering for many boards and committees such as Town Council, Library Board, Tree Board, Cemetery Board, Fair Board, First Responder Recognition, Findagrave, and Chamber of Commerce. Patty was very patriotic and loved her country. She would line Main Street with American flags with the help of community members. She spent much of her life working in retail and enjoyed chatting with her customers.
She is survived by:
Daughter June, wife of Rick Ferraro, of Olney Springs, CO;
Daughter Mae Washam of Lakewood, CO;
Daughter April Parker of Pembroke, GA;
Daughter July, wife of Chris Whitson, of Berthoud, CO;
Brother Larry, husband of Linda Gerlock, of Westminster, CO;
Sister Lettie Prescott, of Colorado Springs, CO.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Richard, Jessica, Anthony (Arlet) & Donald Ferraro; Angelena Cole & Austin Rains; Timothy & Cristina Parker; Cole & Cash Whitson; 7 great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Harry Gerlock
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 29th at Ordway Big Blue in Ordway, CO with Pastor Jeb Brown officiating. Interment will take place prior to the service at 9:30 AM in the Valley View Cemetery, Ordway, CO. In lieu of flowers, make donations to district 1 Crowley County VFD, Ordway VFD, or Sugar City VFD
