His Legacy… Charles W. (Bill) Chapman was born on December 14, 1940 in Oroville, CA to Charles M. and Mary Emma Chapman. Bill passed away on November 1, 2021 in Oroville Hospital. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a good and caring friend to many and enjoyed his weekly lunches with the guys. Bill worked for the Butte County Housing Authority leasing properties, later sold and managed real estate. He raised purebred hereford cattle for several years, later restored a 55 Chevy with many trips to Hot August Nights and other car shows. His latest interest was woodworking, he was planning new projects at the time of his death.

His Family… Bill is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Marianne Chapman, Nicole Chapman and Karen Wilson; sons Don Elliott, Bill Chapman and Dennis Wilson. He is also survived by much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill is truly missed by his border collie Freckles, one of a long line of faithful dogs Bill owned and loved. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert Chapman and his daughter Julie Chapman Dunn. Bill recently mourned the loss of his dear friend Jack Biggs who passed away in September.

His Farewell Service… There will be a Memorial Mass said for Bill at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1330 Bird Street, Oroville, CA on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM with a reception following. Bill was laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery in a private service on November 9, 2021. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
