He was born in Ireland & came to this country in the late 1700's along with his Mother, Isabella Moore (maiden name thought to be Alexander but not certain) and his siblings, William Moore (married Unity Tucker 1813, Roane Co., TN), George Moore, Jane Moore (married John Tucker 1816 Roane Co. TN, and Isabella Moore (married Jesse Eldridge) after his Father, Noble Moore died in Ireland. Hugh A Moore married Mary "Polly" Tucker in 1819 White County, TN at the home of George Tucker. They moved to Warren Co., Mississippi with their daughter, Charlotta Moore b. 1818 TN and in MS they had George Washington Moore, William Moore and Hugh R. L. Moore born 1829. I do not know if Hugh R. L. was born prior to the death of Hugh A. Moore or after the death of Hugh A. Moore. Hugh A. Moore took his crop to New Orleans, LA to sell and was returning home with supplies when he was robbed, killed and thrown overboard the boat. The Captain of the boat informed his family when they reached his home. He is not buried at Goodloe Cemetery but we know his wife, Mary Tucker Moore is buried there along with his daughter Charlotta Moore Goodman (no headstone remains) and his son George W. Moore along with his wife Minerva Jane Goodman Moore and some of his children. His son Hugh R. L. Goodman is buried in Coal Co., OK and the whereabouts of son, William Moore, is unknown at this time.
