Christopher E. Houser, age 50, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at his home, after a long battle with diabetes. He was the son of the late Spurgeon James and Lillian Lundy Houser.
Chris graduated from Virginia High School and Washington County Vocational School. He was a member of North Bristol Baptist Church.
He is survived by one sister, Shirley Houser Mort and her husband Dan of Bristol Virginia; one brother, Spurgeon James Houser and wife Debbie of Blountville, Tenn.; one aunt, Helen Leonard of Bristol Virginia; four nieces and nephews, Sherri Roe and husband Jim, Doug Ferguson, Jennifer Collins and husband Brandon and Kevin James Houser; and several great-nieces, great-nephews cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Cemetery.
