NEW YORK--Mrs. Ardeth M. Ellsworth, formerly a musician and music teacher at Lincoln, Neb., died here Saturday.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; daughter, Kathie; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pierce of Lincoln, and brother, Robert of Dallas, Tex.
Mrs. Ellsworth came here from Lincoln a few years ago when her husband took a teaching position at Wagner college.
Mrs. Ellsworth was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where she studied under Earnest Harrison and of the Eastman school of music at Rochester, N.Y., where she won a scholarship with Max Landow.
For several years she taught piano and directed the glee clubs and choir at the agricultural school at Curtis, Neb. Later she was supervisor of music for the McCook public schools and McCook junior college.
She did graduate work in piano at Northwestern university under Earl Bigelow and in organ with Edward Hall Broadhead at Duke university.
She taught in the Beth Miller school of piano in Lincoln from December, 1944 until moving here. She was organist for St. Matthews Episcopal church during that time.
Funeral and burial will be in Lincoln.
