Mrs. Shirley A. (McCracken) Burroughs, 69 of Galesburg, Illinois died 7:47 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford, Illinois.

She was born January 13, 1952, in Galesburg to George and Dora (Skinner) McCracken. She married Doug A. Burroughs, January 19, 2002, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He survives.

Also, surviving are two brothers, Don (and Bonnie) McCracken of Abingdon, Illinois, and George (and Becky) McCracken of Knoxville, Illinois, a twin sister, Connie Moore of Galesburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley graduated from Abingdon High School in 1970. She worked for OMC Gale Products Division in Galesburg. She then moved to Albuquerque and worked as a chef for Rio Ranch Country Club. When she moved back to Galesburg, she became head of housekeeping for Best Western, Prairie Inn until her retirement in 2017. Shirley enjoyed going to yard sales, arranging artificial flowers, crocheting, puzzles, and playing games. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for cats.

Cremation was accorded. A Celebration of Life visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2021, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
