Josie Kathrene Bennett, 107 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at her home. She was born November 8, 1913 in LaGrange, KY, the daughter of the late Walter F. and Josie (Oglesby) Bennett.

Kathrene was the recipient of a gold medal, given for academic achievement in memory of Julius Cantrel Connell and graduate of JM Atherton High School for Girls, Clark College of Commerce and attended the University of Louisville. She was a former Secretary to the Manager of the Louisville Division of National Auto Parts Association. She was the oldest living member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church where she served in many leadership roles. She was also a member of Crescent Hill Women's Club book review group, English Speaking Union, Professional Secretary International, and Oldham County Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Rachel Brown Bennett Warren, Julie Elizabeth Bennett and Evelyn Waldine Bennett and brothers, W. Miller Bennett and Wilson O. Bennett.

Survivors include her niece, Joanne L. Sprouse, and nephews, Thomas G. Bennett and William F. Bennett.

A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange, Kentucky.
