Mrs. Alice Priscilla Syers, mother of Jacob J. Van Buskirk, of Campbell Hall, died at the home of her daugh­ter, Mrs. M. R. Aaron, in Brooklyn, late Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Syers resided at Paterson, N. J., where she maintained a home and was visiting her daughter, having been present at the annual Thanksgiving gathering of several members of her family. The following evening she suffered a para­lytic stroke and sank into a coma from which she did not rally. The deceased was born at Ottawa City, Illinois, on February 2, 1859. She was the daugh­ter of Elizabeth Carlough and Samuel B. Hopper. Her parents located in Rockland County during her childhood and she later resided in Brooklyn, be­ing at one time a member of the choir of the Old Fleet Street M. E. Church in that city.

She was twice married, her first hus­band, Andrew J. Van Buskirk, died just thirty-one years ago on the same date, November 28, 1900. In 1910 she was married to Roswell Syers, of Pat­erson, N. J., whose death occurred in 1915. She is survived by five children, Charles W. Van Buskirk, of Norfolk, Conn., Mrs. Lottie P. Loner, of New York City, Mrs. Elizabeth E. Aaron, of Brooklyn, Jacob J. Van Buskirk of Campbell Hall and Andrew J. Van Buskirk, of Paterson, also twenty grandchildren.

The services were held at Brooklyn this morning followed by interment at Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen, this af­ternoon, Rev. J. M. Leiper, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Hamptonburgh, officiating at the com­mittal.
