He was born on January 2, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama. As the older brother to twin sisters (Jean Haas and Gerry Gerland), he was raised by Dallas Larry Higginbotham (aka Dallas Lafayette Higginbotham) and Marie Kincaid Higginbotham. After high school, he honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Peggy P. Higginbotham (formerly Peggy S. Pomeroy), on June 21, 1969. Together they had three children: Cathy Lynne Higginbotham, Barbara Leigh Higginbotham (married to: Michael Carl Riddell), and Craig Alexander Higginbotham (married to: Jennifer Ann Higginbotham).
His occupation was as a Project Engineer in the oil & gas industry. He was a proud alum of Syracuse University, where he earned his MBA. He was a life-long BMW and Ford Mustang enthusiast. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, including his four grandchildren: Jordan Michael Higginbotham, Zahra Ysabel Higginbotham, Atticus Alexander Higginbotham, and William Michael Riddell.
He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Larry Edward Higginbotham will be held at Klein Funeral Home (16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379) on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 10am. A gathering for the burial at the gravesite will follow.
