David E. Gilbert Jr., 60, passed away Oct. 30, 2021, at his home in Elkhart. He was born July 16, 1961, in Kankakee, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Gilbert Sr.; a daughter, Casei Jones; and four grandchildren.

Surviving are his mother, Marilyn Jackson; his companion of 33 years, Jodi Gilbert; seven children, Jason (Jackie) Gilbert, Jennifer (Jason) Maurer, Kristine Voelkert, Brandi Gilbert, Sarah Gilbert, Rebecca (Kaine) Liggins and David Clark; and 31 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four siblings.

David attended Bethel Assembly of God, enjoyed having a good time with family, grilling out, fishing, tinkering with all kinds of things, riding motorcycles, and watching Jerry Springer. He will be remembered as a man with colorful language and many sayings that his family will be continuing on.

Per his wishes there will be no services at this time and cremation will take place. Elkhart Cremation Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to any animal rescue organization or to Bethel Assembly of God.
