Nancy Lee Slone-Watson was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She left this world peacefully on October 31, 2021 at age 82. She was born to Mildred and Gordon Dean in Varney, West Virginia on July 10, 1939. She was preceded in death by her brothers Hubert, Dane, James, Pete and Lonnie; survived by her sisters Dude, Jackie and Susie and brother Woodie (Ann). After graduating from Matewan High School, she met and married James Slone, in July of 1959 who preceded her in death in 2012. She was blessed to meet, marry and be loved by another great man, Augie, on September 6, 2013. She loved to say that she met her first husband at White Castle, her second husband at McDonald's and if it didn't work out, she was headed to Taco Bell to meet the next one!

Nancy's hands were always busy – she could be frequently found in the kitchen making biscuits and gravy, homemade pizza and her famous peanut butter fudge. Her hands also left a legacy in the many quilts she made over the years for her loved ones. Memories of her dancing and singing will remain with us always.

Nancy attended Friendly Freewill Baptist Church from the age of 23 where she was very active in the choir, as secretary and a member of Ladie's Aid. She rarely missed a service over the years and was known for her generosity and limitless energy in serving the Lord. We hold close the memory of her singing loudly in the choir, with a hymnal close to her chest: "Some bright morning when this life is over, I'll fly away, to that home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away."

Nancy will be forever missed by her loving husband, Augie Watson; Randy (Laura) Watson, Shaun (Paige) Watson, Heather (Larry) Watson; grandchildren Brody and Ava. Nancy's children- Toby (Karol) Slone, Charlotte (Denny) Hicks, Tiffany (Jason) Harris; grandchildren Steve (Adrienne), Holly, Nikki (Shane), Jessie, Kelly, Allie (Brent), Camryn and Addie.
