Jack was born on February 13, 1934 in Delaware County, IN, the son of Clyde Davis and Edna (Clock) Lahr. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School with the class of 1952 and proudly severed in the United States Army during the Cold War. Jack married the love of his life Janis L. Lehman on July 3, 1956 in Huntington, IN. He worked for Lehman Floor Covering for 22 years, then retired from Huntington College in 2000 and returned to the workforce by joining the team at Juergens Do it Best store in Huntington until 2014. He was a past member at Trinity United Methodist Church and a current member at Life Church of Huntington. Family came second to Jack after the Lord. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all their school events. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Janis L. Davis of Huntington, IN; two daughters, Julie Davis of Huntington, IN, Jeana Rohrabaugh of Bluffton, IN; son, Jeffrey L. (Jami) Davis of Asheville, NC; brother, Kenneth Davis of Ft. Worth, TX; sister, Sandra (DeVon) Blodgett of Plymouth, IN; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson. He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Davis, mother, Edna Lahr, brother, Dale Davis, sister, Betty Jean Davis, grandson, Matthew Guest and great-grandson, Carson Stoffel.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Nanci Rosinski officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery in Marion at 11:00 am Monday, November 8, 2021.
