Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, November 5, 2021, at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Teri Shane officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Williamsfield United Methodist Church or to the Williamsfield Public Library. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is in charge of arrangements.
She was born December 22, 1928, in Truro Township in Knox County, IL, the daughter of Loren and Susie (Kimler) Spencer. She married Ralph E. Mackie on January 1, 1947, in Williamsfield and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2015. Survivors include her children, Donna (Greg) Kneer of Galesburg, Greg (Theresa) Mackie of Elmwood, Rod (Cheryl) Mackie of Laura and Curt (Susan) Mackie of Williamsfield, one sister, Lorna (Everitt "Cowboy") Yelm of Williamsfield, ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Theda Denniston, Mary Lou Baird, and Grace Thomas.
Louise graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1946. She had worked alongside her daughter at the Lady Bug Dress Shop in Knoxville and had also worked as a secretary in the office at Gates Rubber Company and at Arco Farm Supply. She was a longtime member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Spoon River Chapter of the DAR. She enjoyed golfing, boating, reading, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
