Wanda Jean Woodall Allen was born July 19, 1933 in Umpire, Arkansas. Wanda died peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021. She was married to Glen Drayton Allen who predeceased her.

Wanda is survived by her sister, Gladys Palmer; nieces, Lisa Ledford and husband Danny, Debbie Boswell, Nancy Myers and Caroline Trantham; and nephews, Randy Palmer, David Drewyour and wife, Nichole and their children, Liam and Farrah Marie.

During the years when Wanda and Glen lived in Chicago, she was a model and continued that occupation when they moved to Shreveport. She was also the estimator for Mid South Press for some years.

Wanda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Eastern Star and the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux and a long time, faithful and active member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church.

The Memorial Service for Wanda will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Holy Cross Episcopal Church at Texas Avenue and Cotton Street. Officiating the service will be the Rector of Holy Cross, The Reverend Garrett Boyte.

Burial to follow in the Holy Cross Rose Garden, adjacent to the church.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Holy Cross Hope House – a facility ministering to the homeless – Post Office Box 1627, Shreveport, LA. 71165.
