James William Rhodes, Jr., 61, of Interlochen, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at his home. Jim was born October 24, 1960, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of James and Sandy (Sherri) Rhodes.

Jim graduated from Benzonia High School in 1978. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1982. He was a chef for over twenty-five years, and was co-owner of a concession stand at the Buckley Engine Show for over ten years.

James was talented at so many things and had pride and honor in everything he did. He earned his Builder's License and started his own handyman business which he ran for over sixteen years. He joined Cone Drive, in 2015, where he was a Quality Control Inspector. He loved his job and co-workers. Jim was an easy going and loving man. He loved his country, and had great respect for our American Flag and those who fought to keep it.

James married Joy in his later years, and they enjoyed many adventures and shared a precious love.

His family and friends meant so much to him. He had a huge heart and would help anyone or try to give them advice on a project at hand; he will be missed by all.

Jim was preceded in death by: his father, James; and his step-mother, Jean Rhodes.

Jim is survived by: his wife, Joy; his brother, Tim (Deb) Rhodes; his sister, Lynn (Robert) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at the Green Lake Township Park, at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
