Martha Crane of Laconia, New Hampshire died peacefully at home with her family by her side following a short illness. She was the daughter of Dr. Melvin Leroy Stone (1902-1987) and Dorothy (Hawes) Stone (1900-1986), and the sister of Donald Hawes Stone (1935-2021). Her beloved husband, Robert H. Crane, predeceased her. She was a loving mother of six children, grandmother of 19, great-grandmother, and a friend to many.

She and Bob were dedicated to their family and raised their children in Leominster, Massachusetts. In 2016, Martha moved back to her cherished hometown of Laconia where she enjoyed spending time at her church, experiencing local music and reconnecting with childhood friends.

"Martha had a passion and talent for playing the French horn. She was a founder of Symphony Pro Musica, traveled the east coast as part of the Yankee Brass Band, and was a performing member of several other community colleges, and military bands. She enjoyed collecting vintage brass musical instruments....

"A Celebration of Life service was held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Congregational Church of Laconia."
