Daniel Dismas McCarthy, 72, of Hillsboro, Missouri, passed away, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital, Crystal City, Missouri.

He was born November 27, 1948 in Buffalo, New York, son of Vincent and Bernice (Emkin) McCarthy.

He attended Chaminade College Preparatory School and graduated in 1967 and then went on to attended St. Louis University were he got a Bachelors in History.

Daniel worked as a driver for Little Sisters of the Poor. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, writing letters to the editor of the newspaper, politics, was an avid St. Louis Billikens Basketball fan, coached soccer at Good Shepherd Catholic School but most of all spending time with his family.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, DeSoto, Missouri. He was very active in the Knight of Columbus of Hillsboro, PSR Teacher at St. Rose, former Hillsboro School Board Member, helped start the soccer program at Hillsboro School District, and was also the Republican Committee Man, and We the People.

On, February 14, 1975 in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Elenora Eva Biermann and to this union three children were born. They shared forty-six years of marriage together.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elenora Eva (Biermann) McCarthy of Hillsboro, his three children, Daniel (Kristina) McCarthy of Fenton, John (Pamela) McCarthy of Dayton, Ohio, and Elenora (Andrew) Larkin of Allen, Texas, his grandchildren, Kelsey, Kirstyn, Keagan, Kayden, Koby, Macy, Davin, Grace, Padraic, and Theodore, his two sisters, Mary Ann Seabaugh of Ballwin, and Mary Ellen Williamson of Houston, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Vincent McCarthy, and mother, Bernice (Emkin) McCarthy.

Services will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, November 2, 2021 at 10:00
