Actress. She attended the University of Iowa where she received her bachelor's degree in speech and dramatic arts. She also attended NYU School of the Arts and received a master's degree and taught there after graduating. She got her big break in theater with the Negro Ensemble Company in New York. She also appear at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at Canada's Manitoba Theatre Center in Winnipeg, and at the McCarter Theatare in Princeton, New Jersey. Some of the many Off Broadway shows she appeared in were "The Harangues" (1969), "Winner Take All" (1975) and "Light Up the Sky" (1990). A couple of the On Broadway shows she appeared in were "Full Circle" (1973) and "They Knew What They Wanted" (1976). She appeared in numerous television series such as "Westside Medical", "Kaz", "WKRP in Cincinnati", on "Newhart" she had a recurring role as Bev Dutton and "The Beverly Hillbillies" as Aunt Pearl. She passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which is also know as Lou Gehrig's disease.
