Joyce Yvonne Ward, of Geneva, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama with the Bro. Gene Hauser and Bro. Allen Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Joyce was born January 2, 1949, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Oscar Franklin and Lena Clara Ogburn Freeman. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Lane Miller.
Joyce is survived by one son, Kevin Ward of Geneva; two daughters, Cindy Miller of Geneva and Tracy Miller of Geneva; four grandchildren, Jason Hall, Brandi Hall, Michael Miller all of Geneva; and Nicholas Branch (Leslie) of Banner Elk, NC; seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Judy Yeomans (Charlie) Hartford, Joan Race (Bob) Spring, TX; a number of special nieces and nephews.
