ARY MAGALINE MCCOY, 84 years of age of the Dismal section of Oakwood, VA, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.

Born in Grundy, VA, she was the daughter of the late Epp and Meldabell (Davis) Hunt.

She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Church of Christ faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a retired Coal Miner. She enjoyed shopping, gardening (especially tomatoes) and taking care of her dogs. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. McCoy; 3-Sons: Raymond Lee McCoy, Danny Ray McCoy and James A. McCoy; Daughter: Elsie Mae McCoy; Grandson: Larry Davy Boyd; Great-Grandson: David Arnold Childress; and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include 2-Daughters: Zella (Larry) Boyd of Russell Prater, VA, Judy (Fairley) Ramey of Harman, VA; Grandchildren: Tammy (David) Childress, Daniel (Sarah) Ramey, Jonathan Ramey, Justin Boyd, Cera Boyd, Amanda Boyd, Tina (Ronald) Deel, Leann (Martin) Tiller; Great-Grandchildren: Brynlee Marie Boyd, Johnie Childress and Daniel Nicholas Chase Ramey.

Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Funeral Services for MARY MAGALINE MCCOY will be conducted Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Noon at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Blankenship officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.

We will be taking proactive measures to help prevent the spread of any potential illness. In an effort to minimize direct contact, we ask that you consider avoiding shaking hands or physical contact with the members of the family or other guests. Direct Eye Contact, Loving Words, and a Warm Smile can be as meaningful to the families as a traditional handshake or hug, especially during these difficult times. Face masks or coverings are strongly encouraged.
