William Alexander Frederick, 95, of Allentown passed away October 29, 2021, after a long and fulfilling life. Bill was born to Cloyd and Florence (Santee) Frederick in Mifflinburg, PA, and was married to Lois Keener, his loving bride, for 68 years.
Bill was a WWII Navy Veteran, but earned Admiral status in the household, raising five daughters with Lois. He earned his BS in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Math from Bucknell University, and his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University. He worked for PP&L for 42 years, training in Nuclear Engineering in Oak Ridge, TN. He was involved in development of the Susquehanna Nuclear Plant, and finished his career as Manager of Research and Development for PP&L.
Bill was an avid photographer, artist, master punster, and travel enthusiast. Many enjoyed the fruits of his garden and cherry trees. He was active at Salem UCC for many years and most recently a member of Zion Reformed UCC, and a Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Phoebe Ministries. Bill always had a kind word, ready ear, uplifting advice, and puns on command.
He is survived by loving wife, Lois; children, Kay Frederick, Becky (Tom) Mooney, Libby (Dave) Janda, Nancy Frederick, and Janet (Bryan) Gehringer; grandchildren, Sarah Dandashy, Kristin Mooney, Brian (Laura) Mooney, Beth (Patrick) Coleman, Allison Janda (Ian Fuller), and Katie Janda; great grandchildren, Liam, Annie and Amy Mooney, and Miles Coleman; and many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins.
