She was a devoted wife to the late Clyde A. Davis and the late William "Bill" A. Wilson. She was a loving homemaker and enjoyed her career as a secretary with the Scotland County School System retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Mildred was a Charter member of The Pilot Club and served as a longtime member of the Sneads Grove United Methodist Church where she served in many church committees and women's activities. She also enjoyed her time while attending St. John United Methodist Church. In previous years, Mildred and her husband enjoyed playing Bridge, often hosting couples club games with friends. She had a special passion for Blue Birds, enjoyed gardening, canning and her quiet time, reading. Mildred's greatest joy was sharing time with her family. She passed away at the age of 94 on October 23, 2021.
Along with her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Sue Davis; siblings, Thomas Ussery, Robert "Bob Ussery, Katherine Bohannon, her twin, Milton Ussery, and Joan Ussery.
She is survived by her children, son, Clyde A. Davis, Jr., of Oak Island; daughter, Sarah Jane Davis Carter and husband, Jeff of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Lee Davis and wife, Susie, Catherine Gates and husband, Kyle, Ashley Ayre and husband Andrew; great grandchildren, Preston Schenck and wife, Lindsey, Jackson Davis, Hallie Davis, Peyton Davis, Natalie Gates, Hayden Gates, Eleanor Ayre, Hannah Ayre along with a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Sneads Grove United Methodist Church with burial following in Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the services on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until Noon at Sneads Grove United Methodist Church.
