ALLEN RICHARD GILES, son of Clarence Edgar and Clara Mae Gann Giles, was born October 13, 1943, near Brownfield, Missouri, and departed this life December 8, 2007, in Springfield, Missouri.

On August 16, 1958, Allen professed his faith in Christ and was baptized, uniting with the Brownfield Baptist Church, where he remained a member.

Allen was an avid sports fan, enjoying all sports. He also loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and trapping were among his favorite past times. He especially looked forward to his hunting trip out West in Colorado.

Allen had a special love for his family, and made sure they knew how much joy they brought to him. His grandchildren, Bailey and Garrett, were his inspiration and reason for getting up every morning. He was constantly finding something new and exciting to do with them to create a lasting memory. He had even been known to let them give him a "professional haircut" from time to time. The moments spent with them were his most treasured.

Those surviving include his daughter, Kim Hampton and her husband Jerry of Rogersville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Bailey and Garrett Hampton; four brothers, Ron Giles and his wife Linda of Iceland, Randy Giles and his wife Lou of Salem, Oregon, Clarence Giles and his wife Jane and Doug Giles and his wife Faye, all of Brownfield, Missouri; three sisters, Betty Amos Righetti of Miami, Florida, Darlene Riemersma and her husband Jerry of DeBray, Florida, and Winnie Keister and her husband Larry of Sandpoint, Idaho; other relatives, including many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Rufus, who loved to sit with him in his chair.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Kevin Giles.

A wonderful father, fun-loving grandfather, caring brother and loyal friend, he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all the many lives he touched.
