Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids with Fr. Kevin Richter officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dedham.
Visitation will be held at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 - 7 P.M. on Thursday. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 - 10:15 A.M. on Friday prior to the service.

Michael was the son of Otto and Anna (Thalhammer) Hartl and he was born on February 9, 1943, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up near Grey, Iowa and later moved to Dedham, Iowa. Mike attended school at St. Joseph's school in Dedham. Mike worked at the Templeton Locker in Templeton, Iowa and then later worked at the Coon Rapids Locker as a meat cutter. Later, he took a position with Garst & Thomas Seed Corn Company. He also worked at the Coon Rapids Lumber Yard and later became the owner of the Northside Recreation Parlor. Mike was a member of the Coon Rapids Fire Department and Jaycees.
Mike enjoyed playing cards, causing trouble, going to the casino and socializing at the bar. In his early years, Mike enjoyed making concrete ornaments and wood working. Mike had many health issues the past few years, but recently you could see him tooling around town on his motorized scooter.
Mike is survived by his children, Sheryl (Dan), Lisa (Terry), Jeff, and Chris (Jessica). Grandchildren, Alex, Hallie (Michael), Chelsie (Dustin), Courtney (Nate), Jentry (Loyd), Melanie (Jared), Jace, Lydia, Aubrey, Kylee (Syrus); nine great-grandchildren; two brothers Otto (Ursula) and Robert (Janine); three sisters, Rose (Roger), Helen, and Ann (Randy); and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Hartl; sister, Mary Ann Miskimins, and brother-in-law, Dwaine Miskimins; brother-in-law, Charles Yager; and great-grandson, Loyd Hise IV.
