Mrs. Brenda Jean Boggan Singleton was lovingly called Jean or Aunt Jean in the neighborhood. She was born on December 7, 1955, to Louise and Ray Boggan. She peacefully departed this life on October 8, 2021, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Brenda enjoyed sewing and was formerly employed as a seamstress and later as a CNA. She had a great heart and loved feeding everyone in the neighborhood.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Singleton; siblings, Frank, Steve, Clyde, Mae, and Steve Boggan, Bernice Teal, Myrtle Tillman, and Walter McDonald.

She leaves to treasure fond memories and the legacy of laughter that she brought to the family and neighborhood her daughters, Tokishi Boggan, Thanwanda Boggan, and Brenda L. Boggan; grandchildren, Albert McLean II, Albert McLean III, Shaquanda McLean, Tony Carelock, Jr., Tynesha Carelock, and Shakita Polk; great grandchildren, Shaniyah Hursey, Amir Carelock, Amari Carelock, Aria Carelock, Jamarion McLean, and Honesty Logan; two brothers, Bobby R. Boggan and Larry D. Boggan; a host of other relatives and beloved friends.

A Celebration of Life will be given at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, October, 16, 2021 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street. Burial will follow at GuilRand Memorial Park Cemetery, High Point. The public viewing will be on Friday from 1 to 7p.m.
