Carolyn Sue Carver, 81, of Homer, NY, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2020 in Sarasota, FL.
Born December 17, 1938 in Cortland, NY, Sue was the sixth child of Clair Blanchard Gutchess and Irene Gutchess (Engst). She was predeceased by siblings Arlene Gutchess, Neil Gutchess, Homer Gutchess, Keith Gutchess, and Elsie Gutchess. She is survived by Sister Joanne Randolph of Fort Myers, FL; daughters Terri Lyman of Sacramento, CA; Tammy Reece (Mark) of Marion, NC; sons Harvey Carver (Cindy) of Media, PA: Benjamin Carver (Melissa) of Sarasota, FL; Bradley Carver (Mary) of Sarasota, FL; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Ms. Carver worked much of her adult life at Gutchess Lumber Company, Inc., where she developed a strong work ethic, retiring from there in the mid-1990's. She loved central NY, especially Skaneateles Lake, and enjoyed summers in her later years at a cottage on the lake.
Arrangements are being handled by Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
