LIMA — Richard D. "Dick" Garrison, 81, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 30, 1940, the son of the late Richard Woodrow and Bernadene (Adams) Garrison.

On January 29, 1977, he married Diana G. (McBrien) and she preceded him in death on January 10, 2020.

He is survived by five children; Karen (Randy) Day, Richard (Dana) Garrison, Jr., Patricia Garrison, Melissa (Scott) Flager, and Teresa (Lance) Alexander, eight grandchildren; Cody Day, Dylan Day, Hannah Day, Korin Hoskinson, Krista (Bob) Vahala, Jeffrey Rutledge, Derek Alexander, and Brooke (Bryan) Armour, one great-granddaughter, Bristol Armour, three sisters; Janet (Howard) Hoskinson, Lois (Jeff) Doneson and Bernadene (Elliot) Slack, numerous nieces and nephews, and also survived by Diana's family, including his mother-in-law Gerry McBrien.

Dick retired from the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company as Vice President and Director of Special Investigation Unit. He was a member of the Ohio State Patrol, served 6 ½ years with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He was also honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. In his retirement, he worked for the Steve Myers Service in Cridersville, which became a work-family to him. And after retiring from there, continued to cook homemade lunches for them, with love.

He also enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, traveling, attending reunions, and industrial sewing where he would make boat and seat covers. He attended the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Lima. Dick was a very giving man who had a strong faith in Jesus, believed in miracles and the power of prayer.

Pastor Caleb Zeigler will officiate a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, OH 43311. Military honors will be provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard at the conclusion of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery at a later date.
