Mary B. Chandler, age 95, of Dover, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, in Dover's New Dawn Health Care Center.

Born January 23, 1926, in West Chester, Tuscarawas County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Kitty Truman Starkey. Mary attended school in West Chester, and later, on May 3, 1952, married William Chandler. The couple had three children and shared 21 years of marriage prior to William's passing on February 27, 1974. Mary was a loving homemaker who was employed by the S & E Pure Plaza, Dennison, and later by New Philadelphia City Schools, from which she retired. She was a long-time member of the Eleventh Street Church of God, Uhrichsville as well as the church's Ladies Joy Missionary Fellowship.

Mary's joy was her family and her church family. She was an excellent cook and loved preparing delicious food for family dinners as well as church dinners. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen (Jess) Hluch of Rootstown; her daughters-in-law, Susan Chandler of Dover, and Linda Chandler (Tracy) Holdren of Cambridge; her grandchildren, Scott (fiancee, Melissa Huber) Chandler, Shannon (Howard) Wetzler, Heather (Brian) Vargo, Lane and Conner Hluch; her six great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, William, Mary was preceded in death by her sons Jeff and Bill Chandler; her sister, Virginia Crosier Gardner; and her brother, George Starkey.

Family and friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Wednesday, November 3, 10 - 11 a.m.; a service will follow at 11, officiated by Pastor Earl Miller. Burial will be in New Philadelphia's Evergreen Burial Park. After the committal, there will be a lunch in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
