Ray was a lover of nature and a friend to all. No one was a stranger to Ray, you were his friend from the first hello. He was a happy, outgoing and generous person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was very knowledgeable on many subjects. He was especially interested in the history and struggles of the Native Americans.

He often took the trolley into downtown Pittsburgh for shopping. He made many friends on the "T", including me. I consider myself blessed to have met him in 2010 at the Wood Street station, and to have enjoyed many interesting conversations while riding on the "T". He became a dear friend and he is sorely missed. Rest In Peace Ray.

Obituary from Paul Henney Funeral Home:

He never married, but had a passion for food, books and nature. He will be sadly missed and loved by all his family and friends. May his generosity live on.
