Mr. Norbeck, 82, died Tuesday.
He was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and graduated from high school in St. Maries, Idaho.
He worked for the U.S. Land Office in Spokane for 10 years and operated the Second Avenue Grocery from 1949 until 1970. He then worked as district manager for Field Enterprise Corp. in Spokane and retired in 1980.
He moved to Lacey seven years ago, and was a member of the Lacey Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie "Maude" Norbeck; two sons, Jim Norbeck of Olympia and Steve Norbeck of Seattle; two daughters, Julie Norbeck of Renton, Washington, and Susan Gese of Lynnwood, Washington; and eight grandchildren.
