Linda Mae Zellner Arnold, 78, of South Houston, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2021.

Linda was born in Wichita, Kansas on June 24, 1943, to Vernon and Ella Mae Zellner. Her family moved to Ridgecrest California when she was very young. Sadly, Linda's mother passed away after a car accident when Linda was just 14 years old. At that time, she came to Texas to live with her father Vernon. She attended the brand-new South Houston High School where she was an excellent student.

In December of 1960, Linda attended a dance with her Aunt and Uncle at The Wagon Wheel in Genoa, Texas. There she was introduced to a handsome drummer named William Arnold. You might say it was love at first sight. They were married two weeks later and spent 59 years together before his passing in 2020.

Linda was a true Super Wife and Mom. She and Bill raised three sons, Robert, Raymond and William Jr. She orchestrated many construction jobs, fishing trips, and always had a delicious dinner on the table and was somewhat famous for her coconut cream pies.

She loved flowers and loved to have them in her home. She always had a large vegetable garden and beautiful roses beds. She was a teacher at heart. Whether it was teaching the grandsons how to fish at the lake house or teaching the granddaughters how to cook pies and crochet, she loved to pass on her wisdom to others.

Linda and Bill were blessed with five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was devoted to Bill and lovingly cared for him in his last years of his life.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband W H "Bill" Arnold, Father Vernon, Mother Ella Mae, Stepmother Mary, and Brothers Vernon and Mike.

She is survived by Sons, Robert, Raymond and Wife Darla, Billy and Wife Heather. Grandchildren Justin and wife Abby, Michael and wife Holly, Bradley, Ashley and husband Tyler, and Crystal. Great Grandchildren Austin, Adalyn, Evelyn, Wyatt, Samuel, and Evan. Everyone was always welcome at Linda and Bill's house. Perla, Ally, Jesus, and their children, Janice, Ray, Mellissa and Amy, are just a few close friends that Linda considered family.

Linda always loved to gather her family for Christmas. Sometimes the house was overflowing, and that's the way she preferred it. This Christmas will be a special time to trade memories and remember her smile.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 3, from 10am until 12pm at Peevey Funeral Home, a graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
