Wanda Iris Poole Brown, age 89, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully into the hands of God on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Wanda was born February 16, 1932, in rural Marion, Illinois. Wanda is survived by her daughter Laura Gannon and companion Wallace Houck. Her devoted precious pup Lucy Brown. She is also survived by Kim Poole, Marty Poole, (nieces); Mike Poole, Keith Poole, Brad Poole (nephews); and God Daughter Lisa Bell-Talbott. She is predeceased by parents, Pearl and Lela Bopp Flatt Poole; husband, Ramy Lee Brown; Charles William (Bill) Gannon, Laura's Father; Brother and Sister-in-Law Howard and Dorotha Poole; Nephews Steve Poole, Jeff Poole; Great nephew Ross Watson. As well as many extended family members, Kay Savci and Aaron Johnston. Wanda enjoyed life. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed telling stories of the Big Band Days while her husband was entertaining at Houston's history of night clubs. She later married Ramy Lee Brown and lived an exhilarating life of travel with homes in many places. Even though the water was not her favorite she always traveled with Ramy to all the fishing spots here and abroad. The stories she could tell of some of the old places in Houston were fascinating. Wanda was evermore a hostess and we always loved to make her laugh. Because she made us laugh too. Many will miss the beautiful, sweet face with those beautiful blue eyes. Extreme gratitude to April Spiller and Susan Dentler for the compassion, love and kindness to Wanda. As well as to the Roger, Allison, Tyler and Justin McKoy family for always being there as backup and support in more ways than one could only imagine. And a thanks to John Garner, Top Notch Healthcare Assistance, LLC for always providing Wanda with the sweetest of caregivers, especially Frances. A graveside service for Wanda will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas 77023, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please pop a top on a Budweiser and cheer to the life of one lived well. We know she is joining in. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
