Tulia, Texas—Charles Lance Cox, 73, was born July 28, 1948, in Amarillo, Texas to Charles and Inez Rossi Cox. He married Nadine Blalock on September 2, 1986. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1966. He served in the US Army for 3 years including a term in Vietnam. He then ran a parts store in Austin, then came back to Tulia and then became a firefighter and EMT for the Amarillo Fire Department and was there for 20 years until he retired in 2000.

Lance is preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Inez Rossi Cox and two brothers: Gwayne Cox and Alex Cox.

He is survived by his wife: Nadine Cox of Tulia, two children: Jay Smith and wife Charlotte of Tulia and Jenni McCaslin and husband Dennis of Tulia, his brothers: Val Cox and wife Shayne of San Antonio, Eric Cox and wife Angie of Silver City, New Mexico, and Thad Cox and wife Toni of Tampa Bay, Florida, six grandchildren one great grandchild and one expected in December.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 1, 2021, in the Tulia Christian Fellowship Church in Tulia. A private burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia
