Robert Sherman Higgins was called by Jesus to join his children Benji and Susan for everlasting life on October 24, 2021.

He was born August 9, 1937 to Stephen and Lorena Higgins in North Conway, NH. Growing up in Madison, NH, graduating in 1955 from Kennet High School. Later joining the U.S. Navy July 28. 1955 to July 27, 1958 finishing as a ET2. After 28 years of being a machinist in Shop 38, he retired from the PNSY. He was also the drapery installer for Fancy Nancy's Draperies for several years.
Bob was an avid vegetable gardener and loved to cook. His passion was being at the local hockey rinks. Many know him as "Coach Papa". He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #567 Dover, NH. He was also active for many years at the Bingo Hall. He enjoyed time spent with family.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his daughter Brenda and Andrew McRobbie, his son Kevin and Beth Lapointe Sr., his daughter Vicki and Joseph Burns, and his son-in-law Wayne James. Grandchildren Ian England, Kevin and Kendra Lapointe Jr., Nikki and Andrew Fraser, Kassandra Lapointe and Joey Burns, two Great Granddaughters , and brothers; Richard, Wayne, Terry, Carroll, Hoagy, and Chris.
Robert is pre-deceased by his son Benjamin Higgins, his daughter Susan James, his son-in-law Mike England, his brother Brian Nickerson, and his parents Stephen and Lorena Higgins.

An hour of visitation will be held on Friday October 29 at McIntire McCooey Funeral Home 301 Main Street, South Berwick ME, from 10:00AM-11:00AM followed by a service at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at the Southern Maine Memorial Veteran's Cemetery at 83 Stanley Rd, Springvale ME.
