Funeral services for Mrs. Sharon Kaye Barnett, age 52, of Tyler are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale with Rev. Mike Eddy officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale.
Sharon Kaye Barnett was born Nov. 26, 1954 in Tyler to Thurman and Stella (Bullard) Johnson. Kaye attended Chapel Hill schools, graduating in 1973. She worked in medical records at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital and as secretary at MHMR, the Better Business Bureau and U.T. Health Center Family Practice.
Kaye was wed in Holy Matrimony to Danny Barnett in April 1976, whom she faithfully loved and supported for 30 years. She served as Pastor's wife at Victory Assembly of God in Tyler from 1978 to 1996, Lindale Assembly of God from 1998 to 2002 and New Life Fellowship in Tyler from 2004 to 2007, graciously hosting ministers, missionaries and church members for 28 years.
Kaye was a devoted mother of two daughters, Stephanie and Amanda, and "Nana" to three grandchildren, Hannah, Landen and Kaylee, serving her family above herself. She is also survived by her parents, Thurman and Stella Johnson of Tyler; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah and Randy Blanton of Hurst and Jena and Kevin Husketh of Tyler; numerous nieces and nephews.
In the year 2000, Kaye was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which she courageously lived with until her death on Sunday, January 14, 2007.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
