Willie Cecil Phillips was the second oldest of seven children born November 10, 1936 to the late Cecil and Malvirdia Phillips in Holly Springs, MS. Willie moved to Grand Rapids, MI, in the late 1950's. Willie married the love of his life, Maggie Mae Phillips and had five children. Willie was one of the first founders of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, he served as a head deacon and male choir group. Willie loves to travel, enjoys watching westerns, baseball and wrestling. Willie's hobbies were; working on cars, hunting/fishing, breeding hound dogs, and gardening. Willie leaves to cherish his memories with close, two sons; Chester Lee (Laurie) and Charles Perry (Latonya) and four daughters; Denise (Richard) Larelle (Kenneth) and Wilhelminia, Teyairra Nathan. Grandchildren; Sparkle Phillips, Natasha Clark, Shanika Clark, Marneshe' Adams, Destiny Adams, DAngelo Phillips, Charmia, Tyleaah, Charles Jr.,Cha'Li, Joshua, Jaquae, LaTricia Phillips, Chester Rodney, Corey Malone, Curtis Van Wingen. Great Grandchildren; Kardea Phillips, Zyaire Phillips, X'zayveon Clark-Herring, Willie Phillips Jr., Lawrenne White, Tylise Clark, and five great granddaughter and five great grandsons.

Preceding him in the death are his parents Cecil and Malviridia Phillips. Surviving are his siblings; three sisters, Lila (Bodie) Couch, Rude Mae Phillips of Grand Rapids, MI, and Rachel (Ira) Hickenbottom of Oxford, MS, three brothers; Issac (Gloria) Phillips of Miami, FL, Robert Earl (Stephanie) Phillips of Grand Rapids, MI, and late Henry Cecil Phillips (Mary). One very special aunt Eliza Price of Abbeville, MS. Uncle Malci Blakey of Los Angeles, CA
