grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at her home in St. Peters, MO on
Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the age of 76.
She was born in Mill Spring, MO on October 28, 1944.
On May 7, 1965, Shirley married George Phillip Wright, Sr., and they were later blessed
with four children.
Shirley earned a bachelor's degree in business and spent a great deal of her
professional life in various accounting roles in Columbia, SC and Rolla, MO. While her
youngest child was small, she operated a home daycare in Rolla, where she is
remembered fondly for the loving care she provided to the children of the community.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, George Phillip Wright, Sr.; mother,
Sarah Kathryn (Markham) Moss; father, Clarence Otto Moss; brother, Bill Moss;
brother, Ronald Moss; brother, Ike Moss; brother, Jack Moss; brother, Wayne Moss;
brother, Jerry Moss; and twin brothers who died at birth, Harold and Gerald Moss.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her children, Lisa
Brooks and husband Tim, of University City, MO, Danielle Wright and partner Jeremy
Stroot, of Tampa, FL, George Phillip Wright, Jr., of Rolla, and Ryan Wright and wife
Jamie, of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Allison Brooks Kerlick, Haley Foust,
Nicholas Skyles, Aubree Wright, and Brooklyn Wright; one great grandson, Samuel
Brooks Kerlick; sister, Mary Moss McDonald; brother, Bernie Moss; other extended
family members and dear friends.
A private graveside service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in
Waynesville, MO, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley's memory are suggested to the
American Cancer Society.
