Sarah Jane Tillman Montgomery, 80, was called to her heavenly home on October 26, 2021. She was born October 5, 1941 in Bolivar, Hardeman County, Tennessee to Josephus "Jack" Tillman and Ida Lee Vaughn. She lived there until 1958 when a Handsome Navy Man stole her heart at the Memphis Zoo in front of the Zebras. She married Charles Montgomery of Pottsboro, TX on March 11, 1959. They were blessed with a son and a daughter.

She was a stay at home mom, who loved gardening, making flower arrangements, mowing the yard and cheering on her Dallas Cowboys. She always had time to visit with friends for coffee at McDonald's. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Pottsboro. She was known by many as the "Iris Lady". She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles Montgomery of Pottsboro, TX; their son, Don Montgomery of Dallas, TX; their daughter, Anita Rodgers of Southmayd, TX and two grandchildren, Holly Rodgers and Travis Rodgers, both of Sherman, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Bessie Harbin, Dessie Knipper Mayberry and Betty Harris; her brothers, Lloyd, Charlie, Joe and Cecil Tillman and son-in-law, Clark Rodgers.

Family night will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Georgetown Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Shimp officiating.
