Clarice "Colleen" Williams better known as Colleen, age 95, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Colleen was born October 6, 1926 in Carson, Iowa, the daughter of Lynn and Neva (Bolton) Cain. She was raised on a farm in the Carson and Griswold area. She spent summers working on the farm while in school. She graduated #5 in her class at Griswold High School in 1943. After graduation, she moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she lived with her aunt and uncle, Lorraine and Harlow Searle. Colleen worked for Viking Pump Company as a file clerk for about a year. She moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she worked at the Omaha Stockyards for Cudahy Packing for a year. Weekends were spent back home where she met Don Williams at Red Josephson's Bar in Red Oak. They were united in marriage on August 23, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas, at the courthouse. They lived at the "Little" house on the farm where all three boys were born: Dana Michael, Patrick Lynn, and Douglas Howard. They moved to a neighboring farm until 1980 when they moved back to the home place. She spent the rest of her 95 years in this home. Colleen had many talents. She enjoyed upholstering with Lorraine Jones, gardening, wall papering with Ruth Rold, sewing her grandkids little outfits, and "Chickens". She told the family not to forget the "Chickens". Friends and neighbors will attest to the fact that she was always outdoors unless she was baking or canning. She enjoyed sports, whether it was watching Don play and being part of the "Wives Club" in Henderson or her kids and grandkids many activities. Colleen always enjoyed church. She was a longtime member of the Wales United Presbyterian Church and currently a member of Wheeler Grove United Church of Christ. She enjoyed the fellowship with her church family and friends and her neighbors. She was very thankful for all the phone calls. Colleen was also a member of the Women's Fellowship, the Red Hat Society, and Just Us Girls (JUG).

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Orlan Cain. Survivors include her sons: Dana "Michael" Williams and wife Carolyn of Red Oak, IA, Patrick Lynn Williams and wife Judy of Imogene, IA, and Douglas Howard Williams and wife Janelle of Henderson, IA; grandchildren: Craig Williams and wife Amy of Columbus, NE, Dustin Williams and wife Tara of Hutto, TX, Camille Silence of Shenandoah, IA, McKenzie Williams of Shenandoah, IA, Clint Williams and wife Becky of Blair, NE, and Shelly VanDyke and husband Cory of Elkhorn, NE; great grandchildren: Alyvia, Connor, and Sawyer Williams of Columbus, NE, Skylar and Mykah Williams of Hutto, TX, Brooke Silence of Scottsdale, AZ, Mason Silence of Ames, IA, and Ellie and Blake Williams of Blair, NE; and many other relatives and friends.
