Millard "Skip" Filmore Weddel, 84, a resident of Lehigh Acres since 1960 passed away Friday December 17, 2004 after battling a brief illness. Skip was born in Redondo Beach, California. He moved to Ft. Myers in 1960 from Indianapolis, IN.

Skip was a veteran of WWII, Korean War-Navy Department and the merchant Marines. Retired from the Post Office after 20 years, he coached football for the Ft. Myers City League & Pop Warner League. Skip was also co-owner of Rosie's Kitchen and an avid sailor.

He is survived by his wife Helen (Flint) Weddel of 31 years; his mother-in-law, Ida May Flint, his daughter; Sherry (Tim) Hurley, sons, Michael (Eileen) Weddel, Robert Weddel, Gerald (Maggie) Mount, Brian (Rosie) Mount, step-daughter, Mary Breeyear, and his sister, Thelma Freeart of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Joel, Dillian, Shawn and Elizabeth, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Candice Weddel.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home, 12777 State Rd. 82. The family will receive friends from 2:30 till service time at the funeral home. Lee Memorial Park
