Peggy King, age 70 of Marion, passed away Wednesday October 27, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.
Peggy was born June 12, 1951 in Fremont, OH, the daughter of James Russell and Eleanor Jane (Gandert) Rairdon. She was educated in Marion and graduated from River Valley High School in the class of 1969. She then attended Marion Technical College where she received her Associates degree in Nursing.
Peggy was a dedicated Registered Nurse for Community Med Center Hospital until her retirement.
On December 15, 1989 Peggy was united in marriage to Bobby Joe King, he preceded her in death on November 13, 2004.
Peggy was the consummate Ohio State Buckeye fan; she stood taller and cheered louder than anyone else. She was proud member of the Marion County Alumni Association for Ohio State. She was an avid reader and above all she adored her family. She beamed with pride for her grandchildren and never missed any of their events.
She is survived by her children: Donald J. (Tara) Bateman, II and Jared Lee (Candace) Bateman; step-children: Bob (the late Connie) King and Kevin (Tonya) Foulk; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and siblings: James Lee (Ellen) Rairdon and Kathleen Ann (Scott) Thom.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bobby Joe King and step-daughter Jody King.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral service will be Thursday at the funeral home at 10AM with Pastor Scott Thom officiating; burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
