Douglas Fraser Thompson Sr., age 88 of Chickamagua, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. He was born to the late Wilford Thompson and Nellie Froats Thompson in Canada, moved to Florida in his younger days, was a resident of the Chickamauga area for the last 48 years. Doug was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and attended Peavine Baptist Church in the last few years. He retired in 1996 from the Planters Nabisco after more than 40 years in the snack food industry. Doug was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family, he was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Mathis Thompson and siblings, Gladys Thompson, Donald Thompson, Harold Thompson and Eric Thompson. Doug is survived by his loving children, Jan (Terry) Newberry and Doug (Tammy) Thompson Jr., brothers, Paul Thompson and Jean Thompson, grandchildren, Brandi Thompson, Codi Thompson, Lori Nicole (Ron) Torres Megan (David) Wiedenbenner and Michael Leutwyler, great grandchildren, Lily LaMountain, Elijah Wiedenbenner, Caroline Wiedenbenner, Brayden Torres, Relic LaMountain and Brynlee Torres and several nieces and nephews.
