Clara Yvonne Dennis Johnson, 85 of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed from this life at 7:20 a.m. October 25, 2021, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
She was on October 22, 1936, in Washington County, Mississippi, to Alvin C. Dennis and Nellie Parden Dennis.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas E. Johnson, one son, Pete James, her grandson, Jessie James, two sisters, Rebecca Hutton, and Lillie Pierce, two brothers, Joel T. Dennis, and Charles C. Dennis.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Byrd, one brother, Alvin C. Dennis, Jr., her 4 grandchildren, Charles McLemore, Joshua McClemore, Dustin James, and Raven James, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Parmer officiating. Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be, Wayne Dennis, Charles McClemore, Robert Ehlers, Darryl Dennis, Duane Dennis, and Willie Johnson. The honorary pallbearer will be Darlene Dennis Ehlers.
