John Stevens, 85, of Irving, Texas passed away October 26, 2021 in his home. He was born December 8, 1935 in Dallas County, Texas and was raised primarily in Irving, Texas.

After High School he served in the Navy for two years active duty and four years reserve. Following active duty he attended Arlington State College, now UT Arlington and received an Associate's in Art.

Mickey was married to the love of his life, Harriet Sue Stevens for over 61 years. They enjoyed a life of travel, museums, antiquing and most of all, family. He was an artist his entire career beginning with Commercial Art specializing in Airbrush, then oils with an emphasis on portraits and animals. He also loved music and performed his entire life.

John was baptized with his youngest son, Scott at Plymouth Park Baptist Church which began his walk with Jesus. At Plymouth Park he served as a deacon, on the Pastor Search Committee (1988-1989) and many other areas including providing artwork for various campaigns and bulletins. He also served with The Gideons International, distributing Bibles and was especially passionate about sharing the Gospel.

Survived by his wife, Harriet Sue Stevens, sister, Lois Jackson, brother, Marvin Eugene Stevens, children, Michael Stevens, Angela Walker and Scott Stevens, grand children, great grand children and other extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Marvin Stevens, mother, Juanita Grace Stevens and brother, Bill Stevens.

Interment: Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas...BRFH
