Mrs. Ruby Burgsteiner Boxxe, 96, of Pooler, GA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Hospice Savannah after a brief illness.

She was an overhead crane operator at Savannah Steel Products until she became a mother. The rest of her life was spent loving, caring and nurturing her family and friends. She will be remembered by those who loved her as a wonderful friend, loving wife and mother, favorite aunt, best sister and the worlds best grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Perry Burgsteiner and Elizabeth Louise Mason, her husband of 50 years, George Morris Boxxe, a son, Perry Morris Boxxe, two sisters, Ethel Wilson and Anita Burgsteiner Lucas, and one brother, Edward Burgsteiner.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Boxxe (Janie), one daughter, Donna Boxxe Thomas (Patton), one granddaughter, Nicole Gondol (Jon), three grandsons, Chad Thomas (Tobey), Aron House (Kelly), Jerel Johnson, seven great-grandchildren, Garrett Thomas, Emma Thomas, Hank Meadows, Christina House, Logan House, and Jordan House, beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Catherine DeWitt, one brother-in-law, Everett Boxxe, and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 noon on Monday, November 1, 2021 with the funeral to follow at 12 noon in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
