Mary S. French, age 76 of Dunn, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021. Mary was born May 7, 1945 in Coleman, Alabama. Daughter to the late Joseph Henry Perry and Marjorie Augusta Perry and is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter C. French.
Originally from Alabama, Mary spent time in Illinois, Tennessee, and Kentucky. She lived for over twenty years in South Korea and The Philippines where she taught English as a second language, most notably at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. After the passing of her beloved husband, Walter, Mary relocated to the Dunn, North Carolina area where she has lived since 2009. A lifelong musician, she has spent the past several years as a guitar, voice and piano teacher for Dunn School of Music, as well as served as the organist for both Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which she was a member, and Lillington Baptist Church. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dunn.
She is survived by sons: Matt French & (spouse) Michelle; Nick French & (spouse) Randi; Oliver French & (spouse) Sara; A daughter: Beth & (spouse) Kevin; and 8 Grandchildren.
Mary also leaves behind countless friends from all over the world.
The family will have Visitation Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Dunn School of Music.
